I applied through college or university. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at CarMax (Charlottesville, VA) in Oct 2017
Interview
I applied through a resume drop via my school's career center. The day before the in person interview was scheduled I received a notice that the interview would be over the phone rather than in person. Given that the interview was primarily centered around a case question, having the interview over the phone was a bit tedious. I could have been more prepared for the case for sure and case interviews over the phone are not too out of the norm. However, to cancel on an in-person interview at the last second like that was a bit of a JV move by CarMax.

Question 1
Name a time you worked with Data?
100 paintings question
Three rounds: HR, case study, and then interview with team with additional case studies. Case studies included the bridge case, revenue case, car loan case, and the famous painting case.
Using these cases feels like "gotcha" moments when doing the interview. They say they want to see "how you think" but these are all mathematical problems with only one answer.
