I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Chipotle (Pittsburgh, PA) in Jul 2011
Interview
I got an application from the cashier after seeing the "now hiring" sign. I turned it in a day later. I didn't hear back from the company for a week, so I called them to ask about the application. They said they'd call me if they were interested. I waited a while and assumed I wouldn't get called at all, until they called me for an interview two and a half months later. During the interview you are asked why you want to work at chipotle and general questions about your application. I got a tour and was told about the opportunities for advancement. At the end of my hour and a half long interview I was offered the position.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked why I wanted to work for chipotle about six times in different ways.
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
The interview process included an application, attending a brief in-person interview, answering questions about teamwork, availability, customer service, and attitude, and was sometimes followed by a same-day or quick hiring decision.
