I applied in-person. I interviewed at Cummins (Phoneton, OH) in Jan 2015
Interview
Started with a phone interview from one of the HR guys, it involves behavorial question like "tell us a time when you have to make a difficult decision & how did you go about ir"...it was followed with a technical interview after a couple of weeks, the interviewer is one of the chief engineer & he concentrated his question on technical understanding of IC Engine...still expecting to hear frm then soon
It was a good experience, and I enjoyed travelling to their factory. They reimbursed the travel and hotel stay costs. The safety standards are good at the manufacturing facility, and it was a very multinational environment.
1) Contacted by recruiter, 2) 30-minute phone screen, 3) Interview with Hiring Manager, 4) On-site panel interview.
Overall terrible experience: I was scheduled for an onsite interview with the hiring manager but then it changed to a virtual meeting with less than a 24hr notice. The Job description did not match the actual responsibilities of the position. The Manager talked like he was a know-it-all, did not ask if I had any questions, and abruptly ended the interview saying he has another meeting. Red flags of a toxic manager.
