I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cummins (West Lafayette, IN) in Mar 2012
Interview
I got the chance to know about CUMMINS in Purdue's career fair. It is the only few companies that support H1B employee status.
First interview was with two people. All the question are about the behaviors. Second interview was with hiring manager. A phone call about an hour, technical questions and answers.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavior:
What is the most difficult situation that you run into?
How did you deal with conflict with colleagues?
Technical:
How to filter out sensor's noise?
How to design a controller?
Initial screening call - with HR
Phone technical interview - with hiring manager
Panel technical interview
Be sure to have strong technical answers to whatever you have written in your resume.
Interview process is typical of employers within the industry. It involved 2 separate interviews, one 30 min meeting with a recruiter and another longer 1 hour meeting with the team leader.
Relatively simple. Talked about my experience and various scenarios that may come up in real life. Be through with the basics of controls theory and your projects and you should have a good chance of acing the interview
