I applied through college or university. I interviewed at D2L
Interview
Arranged through my university. Was asked to provide a website I liked and explain why, talk about accessibility, design fundamentals. Was interviewed by a product designer and a hiring manager. For full-time interviews, I believe the hiring manager of the team you'd be working on interviews you, but for co-op you may not work with your interviewers.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at D2L (Kitchener, ON) in Sep 2012
Interview
Went through an HR interview first. It was a mess. The interview was over the phone and not interactive. The HR person asked pre-determined questions and typed my answers into a from. There was no back and forth, it felt like being interviewed by a robot.
I had a 2nd interview that was a "get to know you" interview that seemed appropriate.
The 3rd interview was a design interview. I think the questions themselves were appropriate and useful but the people interviewing seemed like they were not interested in being there. Left a bad taste in mouth.
