I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Deloitte (Boston, MA) in Mar 2007
Interview
The interview was very straight forward. It consisted of two rounds - telephone and personal.
The telephone interview lasted 25 minutes where a Manager from their NY office with the same application background as mine went over my resume and asked me questions about my role and the usual - strengths and weaknesses questions. I was contacted immediately after the phone interview to schedule a face to face. Once every two weeks they fly in candidates from across US to a Deloitte office.
Mine was Chicago. There were about 15-18 candidates waiting for their turn. These were people applying for various positions (various cities) and not necessarily for the role I was being interviewed for. The interview lasted 2 hours with 3 Senior Manager (and above) level folk. They asked me questions on - my experience, my goals, Deloitte's way of work, an easy case study. They typically look for skills, background and most importantly personality/networking ability. I was on my way back to the airport when my Deloitte recruiter called me with the news that I was through and they were working on an offer. Over the next few days they called me to work on the details and file my H1B. Working for Deloitte is a dream come true.
The three-stage process included a case study and involved meeting several team members. Overall, it was a positive experience although the recruiter took a while to inform me about the offer.
The interview process was long and slow. Took a lot of time to connect, but was worth the effort. The interviews were good and informative, but the turn around time was high, had to wait for good 2 months to hear back
