      Manager Interview

      Feb 21, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at EY in Feb 2022

      Interview

I talked to 2 senior managers and 1 principal for 45 minutes each. The conversations were very informal and did not seem like they were guided in any way. Each started out kind of similar: tell me about your background and why move to EY. There was little to no discussion of skills or experience in things that directly related to the job. I had to try to work these mentions in wherever I could. The irony is that I was rejected because I didn't have the skills they need (even though they made no effort to assess that). At the beginning of one interview, I was forced to remove articles of clothing (my suit jacket and tie) before beginning the interview. The interviewer refused to continue until I did so. This behavior is super problematic and a huge red flag for EY as an employer if they are forcing people to remove clothing during a recorded interview, what else are they doing when they are not being recorded?

I had interviewed for a Manager role at EY. I already informed them during the initial call that I have a total of 6.6 years of experience. After that, they scheduled my L1 interview round, which I cleared successfully. However, I was rejected in the L2 round because they were looking for candidates with 8+ years of experience for a leadership role.
