I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Dec 2011

      Interview

Got flown into Madison to interview for several positions at Epic. Process was very long and thorough, and included multiple interviews, several written tests, and a presentation for a panel of three employees. Nothing too difficult, just a lot of talking and walking around their truly impressive facilities. My advice is to be yourself and just try to act casual; they don't take themselves too seriously. Also, DO NOT, wear a suit or anything too fancy. You'll stick out like a sore thumb and it will reflect poorly upon you, one poor guy was the only person I saw wearing one in the entire company.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Sep 2019

      Interview

First step was a phone interview with someone in the position I was applying for. It was a very casual interview mostly with them explaining the role in depth and asking general questions about your resume and what you have been doing. Try and do some research beforehand and have questions ready for them as well. The second step was an online assessment. There was a small personality section where you answer multiple choice questions about how you feel in certain situations. The rest of the examination was a timed test similar to an SAT test where you can use a simple calculator and scrap paper to solve a series of math, reading, and logic problems. This is done online with a proctor viewing you through webcam. The final portion is a programming assessment in which the test teaches you the logic and syntax of a fake programming language and you use that to "code solutions". Programming experience isn't necessary but a basic knowledge will definitely help here. The final part was the in person interview. They will fly you to Madison, WI which is the HQ. This is quite a long process so be prepared for an all day interview. They will bring you in by cab early in the morning and hand you schedule of all the different parts to the day. In general your day might look something like this: Overview of the company Meeting with someone in your role One on one interview with someone in your role You give a presentation ~10 minutes (They inform you of this when you get invited for the in person) Have lunch with other interviewees and someone from the company Go over a case study with an employee Have a tour of the campus One on one meeting with an HR rep. Any technical skill assessments will be taken on site. Overall I spent about 8 hours on the campus during my interview.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

What are 5 words that don't describe you.
      1 Answer

      Question 2

For more managerial roles you may be given a sample work week and asked to prioritize how you would spend your time.

      Interview

Skills assessment tests followed by phone interview. Skills assessment involved logic tests and a fake programming test that doesn't require prior programming experience. Phone interview was more of a screening process. Moving on in the interview process is heavily dependent on skills assessment.
