      Technical Solutions Engineer Interview

      Jan 15, 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Verona, WI
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Dec 2019

      Interview

I applied online after a recruiter messaged me on a job-search website. In the coming weeks, I had a phone interview with someone who already works in the position for which I was applying. Then, the next step was a proctored coding skills assessment, that took me a little over 2 hours, although I believe you have 4 hours to complete the entire exam. I originally applied for the Software Developer position (so keep in mind some of the steps I described above may be slightly different if you applied for TSE initially), but they passed me up for that position and invited me to come to Wisconsin for an in-person interview for TSE, which they said may be a better fit for me. My flight arrived the night before the interview day, and then I took a cab to the hotel, and later that night I met a group of other candidates who were led by a current employee, and we all went to dinner for an hour or two. The next day, I shared a cab with other candidates and we rode to the Epic campus. The day consisted of a software demonstration, informational session from a current employee in the position I was applying for, the interview, a tour of the campus, and then lunch, before going back to the airport. The interview day was a very personal way to see if this is a place you'd like to work. Even though I felt like I did well, its hard to know for sure if they liked me until I got the call, mostly because there were at least a dozen candidates on campus at the same time as me, interviewing for the same position, and many more interviewing for other positions. But overall, it seemed like a good place to work, and it was helpful to get more information about the company and the position, in addition to the interview.
