The interview discussions spanned over two weeks and there were 8 rounds in total.
First round was an initial screening by a job consultancy representative over phone.
Second round was telephonic discussion with HR of Expedia Inc. for role expectations, brief about my existing profile, and salary expectations.
Third round was a video call discussion on Content Filtering, Network Security solutions placement, and configuration of a Firewall.
Fourth round was a face to face discussion on Security Architecture Design, Cloud Computing, Packet Flow in Cisco ASA and Checkpoint Firewalls, and High Available Business Resilient solutions.
Fifth Round was a face to face discussion on DLP solutions, and scenario based questions on conducting VAPT of web applications and networks.
Sixth Round was a face to face discussion on HIDS, HIPS, NIPS, IT GRC and Security Management.
Seventh Round was a face to face discussion on SIEM and SOC architectures and incident management practices.
Eighth Round was a face to face HR discussion on way forward.
After conclusion of eighth round, I learned from job consultant that my feedback was remarkable. The panel rated my network security, web application security and security architecture design knowledge as per requirements. However, their leadership changed job description and they would want someone with AWS certifications and experience. Surprisingly, there was no mention of AWS on job description and in 8 interview rounds that were conducted.
It is good to not be selected as a firm that is so unplanned about whom to hire, and who realised after 8 rounds that they have to change job description. Definitely Expedia Inc. is least respectful of time spared by candidate appearing for interview and panel who would have range of other activities to deal with in Security Engineering Team.
