I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FedEx Office in Oct 2012
Interview
YOu apply online and have to do an online test of approx 108 multiple choice questions. Some dealing with customer serive, some managerial experience and some problem solving and math. It took about two days to hear back from them.
There were 3 interviews.
The process began by asking me when it would be convenient to interview over the phone. A day and time was arranged.
The first was conducted over the phone with a hiring manager out of Arizona. The interview lasted about 20 minute and included questions about my understanding, utilization and success while using metrics to measure your success in my (at that time) current position. The interveiwer made it very comfortable and our conversation weaved easily through my managerial experience.
The phone interview ended with me being told that the center manager of the store that I had applied to would be in touch about a second interview. He phoned me a day later.
The Center Manger was the next one to interview me. He used a question sheet as a guide only and the interview was more of a conversation than an interview. He was more interested in my managerial abilities in regard to handling employees, being able to discipline them and how I handled difficult customers. He told me that he would get back to me about a time when the district manager would like to interview me. It was scheduled the new day for the following morning.
The third interview was a 3 person panel interview which I had never experienced before consisting of the district manager and 2 center managers from different stores than the one I was applying at. I was asked questions in turn by each of them for about 30 mins. It was a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be and they were very nice.
The questions were taken from printed sheets but asked in a casual way instead of just reading and they all took notes. Questions consisted of asking me how comfortable I was with all aspects of managing people. ie giving kudos, disciplining, handling difficult customers, and some giving scenarios and how I would handle them. They also asked me what my current pay rate was.
It all seemed to go well and they told me that I would hear from my prospective center manager with their decision. The center manager called me that afternoon and told me that I was hired if I wanted the position and that I would be receiving another call from the hiring manager in Arizona to discuss my pay rate etc.
The hiring manager called me and told me and offered me more money than I was expecting which was great and that I had to go back to the center to get my paperwork for a drug test.
Once all that was complete I started work a week later.

Interview
Little too fast, 15 minutes after applying online I received first of 3 interview and received the job very quickly. It raised a lot of red flags but seems to be good so far if you just need a job.

You do a phone screening first. When you pass, you go to the in person interview with the store manager. After that, you do a final interview with the district manager.
