I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (San Mateo, CA) in Sep 2021
Interview
First interview; by phone. The interviewer came across as bright; he was a former Investment Counselor.
Rapid-fire questions until it was my turn to ask some, though he said he was open to questions anytime.

Q: Why Fisher? Why the Investment Counselor role?

Q: Tell me about a difficult situation at work, and how you resolved it.
Q: What are your salary expectations?
Q: How large is your book of business at your current job?
Q:
The initial phone interview felt incredibly rushed. Despite the position being marketed as a wealth management role, it is essentially a high-volume asset-retention phone center. The day-to-day focus is simply convincing clients not to transfer their money out of the firm rather than providing actual, comprehensive wealth management or tailored financial planning services. Very misleading job description.

I applied online. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Dallas, TX) in Jun 2026
Interview
Overall process what a little lengthily but interview process was nothing to overly stress about. The first round was an initial screening, covering mostly the position itself and what to expect moving forward. The second-round interview did include a mock client call in which some material was provided beforehand to review.
