Surprisingly unprofessional-
A recruiter reached out for interview and then disappeared afterwards. Neither show up during interview nor respond to my email.
The business in itself is quite interesting and is packaged in a professional way at least from their website. However, neither in my own career so far nor with any other firms, happened such unprofessional way of doing things. Ghosting your candidates is not acceptable esp after the recruiter shows interest to my profile.
I’m curious if it is something on personal level or general issues internally. If it is for the latter, I’m glad that I know it already.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Flexport (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2017
Interview
Started the process via phone interview. The interviewer was very uninterested in not only me but the also wasn't particularly excited about the company. I could hear her typing in the background the entire phone call. It wasn't becuase she was corresponding my answers..she was definitely going through email. It was like speaking with a robot. After I asked a questions she would say, 'great question.' In a monotone voice. Also, not every question I asked is going to be a GREAT question. Again, she wasn't listening. This person is the front lines, first impression?! The excitement level about the culture/product was a 2 on 10 scale. I laughed when we hung up and a few days later received a completely automated email saying 'great speaking with you! Was it great speaking with me? Also, usually when it was GREAT speaking to someone, you don't reject them. Might want to update that rejection template. The spacing between my name and commas in the automated template was off as well. Just an FYI.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Flexport
Interview
The first conversation was with a technical recruiter who was great! She seemed super thoughtful and interested in getting to know me and what made me tick.
After the initial conversation, I had a one-hour phone call with the hiring manager who wanted to spend that time seeing if we could get to know each other rather than focus on the mutual fit. When we were about 45 min into the conversation he asked me a question that I gave detail around and his response after was, "sorry i was just on slack can you repeat your answer." I at least appreciated his honesty but I almost ended the call right there.
I was then asked to come onsite to meet him and a hiring manager so I could get a feel for the office and the team I could potentially partner with. After the onsite I never heard back one way or the other. I thought after spending three rounds with the team I'd at least get a response back even if it wasn't positive especially since it was recruiter to recruiter.

Question 1
How do you foster a strong relationship with your hiring managers?
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Flexport (Atlanta, GA) in Jun 2019
Interview
The candidate experience was GREAT. I saw the position online via LinkedIn. I applied and received an email a few days later from the hiring manager. Scheduled time to converse about my background and Flexport’s company culture. We hit it off well. She put me in contact with the HR Coordinator to schedule a Zoom conference video call with her team (4 ppl)(2 hour interview). A week later I was asked to come to the Atlanta office to meet a few more managers and team members. I received an offer 2 days later. Great interview process. Company kept me informed. No one dropped the ball.
