I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Forever 21 (New York, NY) in Sep 2011
Interview
I applied to the Forever21 in Union Sq in person. I came in, dressed in their clothes from head to toe, with a filled application and a resume. I asked for a manager to hand it in to and was interviewed on the spot. She asked me about my prior experience and a few other questions such as why do I want to work at Forever21 and why would I be a good candidate for the job. It's usually a must to have experience in retail but since I had experience in customer service in the city it was overlooked. The manager was very polite and the interview itself was very easy and laid back. She told me right away that she wasn't going to have me go on to another interview, instead she hired me on the spot. She let me know that the starting rate is $10/hr and that I would get a call within 2 weeks from HR for orientation. If you consider applying come in dressed in their clothes, be completely honest with your answers and outgoing, make a good first impression and don't be hesitant to be out there. They look for a divierse group of personalities and styles.
It was an in-person interview. It was very easy, and a standard retail interview. lasted around 10 minutes. The manager asked some scenario questions but overall, the questions were pretty straightforward.
It was a casual group interview. I sat down with a manager and another girl who was applying. They just asked a few standard questions about us and our experience.
Interviewer did not seem very experienced. He was rushing the interview and only asked general questions such as where do you see yourself in 10 years… for an entry level job.
