After an initial call with Talent Acquisition I had an interview with senior team members. It was quite casual and went well, I felt a good rapport with the team who were really friendly and I came away feeling positive about working with them.
I was eventually called by another member of talent acquisition who I'd not spoke to before, who told me they'd like to make an offer. I was very happy but unfortunately this is when things went down hill.
The role was advertised as remote, but they explained this would require relocation and 2 office days - also the offered wage was not enough to support living in Cambridge. I wanted to make this work, so I proposed a plan involving self funded accommodation to stay on office days. I ran this past said talent acquisition person but my emails were ignored for almost a month. Eventually this person called and told me that unless I relocate, it wasn't going to work. Some of the reasons didn't add up and I got a feeling this person was reluctant to work this out and had maybe decided themselves my face didn't fit, despite everything going great up to that point. This left me feeling like I wasted my time and left a sour taste.
I don't think the mentioned talent acquisition member works there anymore, so hopefully things have improved.
