      Liability Claims Representative Interview

      Oct 12, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO in Oct 2016

      Interview

Applied for a claims rep position, took an assessment and received an email the next day to schedule an on the phone interview. The interview was scheduled for the next day. Spoke to the recruiter and he stated that he felt the claims position wasn’t a good fit that I would be better for their liability claims rep as well as their MDP due to my high GPA and MBA. We went over the requirements of both roles and he asked if I would like to come in for testing the next day. He also stated I wouldn’t be interviewing that day because they were doing interviews the following month. I scheduled my interview and went the next day and like everyone has stated you take a computerized multitasking and typing test. It’s really easy. You listen to calls and respond to emails and put the required information in the correct spots. Then you take two typing tests. After that, you’re told on the spot if you’ve passed. Three weeks later I had my interview and it’s exactly like stated. You’re asked a series of behavioral questions and they like you, you move on to the role play. The role play wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. You’re given a packet to go over and 25 minutes to look over it. After 25 mins the phone will start ringing and it’s a recruiter who calls as various people (angry, calm, caller with a thick accent) asking about their claims. There were also times when someone would come in and hand you paperwork that needed to be completed. There is no right or wrong answer. This was done to see how well you can handle yourself while under pressure and If you can multitask. This took about an hour and once it was over I was asked a few questions regarding the role play. Then I was taken to the floor to shadow a TCR 1 (telephone claims rep). I listened to a few calls, asked questions, and was even able to assist with a claims case. After about 30 mins of this, I was taken into the supervisor of claims office and was a few more behavioral questions. I was told I would be going back to their employment office to fill out background/drug information I was being offered the position contingent upon a successful background and drug test. If they tell you they’ll contact you at any point during the interview, you did not get it. I was there about 6 hours.

      Interview

I aced the computer-based test. It was stuff that I knew from my years in retail. During the first interview, I was told that they could not find a manager for the second interview and excitedly told me if I did not hear from them to call them Friday of that week. That day I was sent a denial in an email and was frankly disappointed that they got my hopes up for a second interview.

      Application

      Interview

Very long interview process. After applying you are invited to do a personality test and run a simulation program to test multitasking. You are then scheduled to do a phone interview that lasts about an hour mostly focusing on what you would do in hypothetical situations and previous work experience. After this, you are scheduled for a role-play interview online which can be very tricky and definitely the hardest part of the interview process, try to read the documents provided thoroughly and take notes. After that you do a video interview with a hiring manager answering further questions. I took me about 2 weeks but you can theoretically schedule everything in the same day.
