For the second technical interview, they asked my approach on how I would tackle an issue where I was unfamiliar with the technologies in play. I liked this and thought I did well. They then said that they wanted me to complete two tickets which they assigned to me and gave me two weekends to accomplish. This felt weird to me, and it wasn't until I started looking into the tickets themselves that if felt as though I was being taken advantage of. I mentioned this to the internal recruiter who had initially reached out to me (and subsequently had been missing in action), and I finally had a talk with him (the first one, over a month after he contacted me via LinkedIn). I explained that they gave me two tickets that looked very much like Gitlab work, and that I wouldn't be completing them. I explained that I had already had two technical interviews and a coding challenge and that I'd be happy to do another technical interview but that I wouldn't be doing this type of work for an interview. He said that that was not acceptable for them, so I withdrew my application. Everyone was very nice (except for the recruiter, he was very difficult to track down and didn't accept any responsibility for that), but this was a giant waste of time.
