GitLab IT Systems Engineer interview questions

I was contacted by a recruiter through email, after applying online. We scheduled a date to discuss the job, expectations, and a few very basic questions about myself and my experience. I felt this part went well. I was then told that I would have to complete an assessment, which involving scripting to handle a small data set. I completed and submitted the assessment, and was told by the recruiter that someone would review it and update me on the decision as soon as possible. I never heard back from anyone, even after sending a follow up email. This was disappointing and frustrating, because I spent time to complete an assessment, at the very least they could have emailed me and told me, No!
