I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GitLab
Interview
1) Initial call with a recruiter.
2) An MR was opened to me and I had to review the code. It was a notebook (Gitlab has an open issue with making in-line comments on a notebook)
3) 1.5-hour technical interview going through the MR and the comments I left.
This is where my journey stopped as I did not get any feedback about the next steps or even a rejection email.
The recruiter appeared super friendly but kept on ghosting me after the first call.
The interviewer lacked technical depth in Machine Learning and they could not understand basic concepts around ML.
Overall a bad experience and Gitlab does not seem to respect your time
