I interviewed with the hiring manager, later HR, then a panel of three, and finally a 3 hour portfolio review and meeting with VP and others. Took many weeks and was extremely thorough.

Question 1
What did you bring to company outside of assigned projects?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Granular (Des Moines, IA) in May 2018
Interview
My first meeting was with a senior recruiter at the company, who told me basics about the position and the company. She was accommodating to my schedule, met me at a convenient location, and answered my questions honestly. After we met the first time, she became my point person throughout the rest of the process. She scheduled my next interview, which was with the manager of the position I was interviewing for. That interview was off-site as well, and had a casual vibe but still felt like a productive conversation for us both. The final interview was the first one that was on-site, and it was with 4 people. There were several phases: Q&A, examples of my design process, and a design exercise to further understand my design process. The senior recruiter I worked with was there to walk me to the group interview, and impressed me greatly by calling afterward to debrief with me about how the group interview went. The entire time I felt like I could be honest in the questions I asked (to all the people I interviewed with) and felt that their answers to my questions were honest, as well.
