I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at H&M in Mar 2025
Interview
I applied through LinkedIn and pretty much immediately I was sent a link to an AI interview with Maki. I kept getting reminders to complete this as soon as possible. It was meant to be a way of showing my skills and being assessed objectively, without being restricted by a CV. In spite of these reminders to complete the AI interview quickly, I never heard back from it.
About a month later the position was advertised on LinkedIn again and I sent my CV again. This time, the AI process, which is meant to assess candidates objectively and purely based on their skills was circumvented completely and I received a rejection email from their recruitment team without an explanation as to why I was being rejected.
Although when I initially applied this seemed like a modern and professional place to work where you are evaluated purely based on your skills, it turned out that all they wanted to see was CVs so that they can pick people based on factors other than professional skills. This perhaps explains why the customer service in their Thessalonian stores is so poor with the sales assistants failing to even look at customers when approached with a question, spending hours speaking on their mobile phones while supposedly arranging items on the shelf and actively blocking customer access to those, or even not responding at all when customers greet them at the till.
I would invite the international recruitment team to take a closer look at what's going on with the recruitment in Thessaloniki and why a professional process is being skipped in favour of people being rejected for no obvious reasons. What sort of people and how do they get the job when they lack the most basic customer skills? I have to be honest, I expected better from a huge brand like H&M...

It was a group interview. They asked us about fashion and what we know about H&M and it’s background. We also had a task in groups to come up with good answers to the questions given, we also had to present.
It was a group interview, we did group tasks like styling people for different occasions and answering . It was pretty focused on the company values and if you have a love for fashion.

Question 1
Style a customer who came in looking for an outfit for a job interview, their personal style is 'streetwear'
It was a group interview, about 8 of us. We had to basically work together on different scenarios and answer the questions the manager asked us. She also put us on the spot and individually asked us questions. I got 'who inspires you the most.'
