I applied online. I interviewed at Hertz (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2013
Interview
Met the very young manager of an off-airport branch and went for coffee as the tiny shack of a location wouldn't work for a job interview. The whole thing seemed like like a formality in that I am sure anyone who seemed remotely willing to be polite and do what they were told while making a reasonable effort would get the job. Je posed a few softball questions that seemed entirely meant to gauge sanity and willingness to perform the simple job duties and stay with company for a while. He also sold the job as an opportunity for advancement and tried to figure out my ambition level, as that seems the way they keep people, by dangling the carrot that is managing your own tiny branch after six months to a year or so of cleaning out cars. I followed up with the regional manager. That interview was equally softball and seemed to be about covering the law. I got an offer a little while the second interview.
Had a good interview. Arrived early for my interview. Regional manager arrived to interview me and was impressed I arrived early. It was a straight forward interview and discussion on the job details and my background in sales.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hertz (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2024
Interview
I applied and on the same day the recruiter reached out to me with an email to set up an interview. I selected a date and time that was available that worked for me. After I scheduled my interview she reached out to me by phone to make sure I understood where the interview was happening and gave me her contact info incase I needed to get ahold of her.
The day of my interview the manager was not there so I contacted the recruiter and she contacted the manager and the manager was there just a few minutes later. The manager was nice and did a good job explaining the job. I received an offer and felt good about accepting it.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Hertz (The Villages, FL) in Feb 2024
Interview
I got called into The Villages, FL branch for an interview. I drove 30 minutes and arrived a little early. When I went inside the people told me the Manager was not available and was in meetings all day and they would reschedule. This is nowhere close to following their values "We put people first". Going forward, I would never work for this company and the Manager needs to dealt with for using people.
