I'm a student of Computer Science and Engineering(fresher) and was interviewed for a post related to my field in Honeywell Technology Solutions. It is an internship offer which may be converted full time employment based on my performance in the internship.
The first round was an online test which was very easy. I'm also assuming they had a very low cut-off because most people were shortlisted for the interviews. They had 4 separate sections for numerical aptitude, logical aptitude, verbal aptitude and technical aptitude. Questions were not at all tough and anyone preparing for placements will be able to clear it.
Interviews- There was a technical face to face interview and an HR interview for people clearing the technical round.
Technical round- I was asked to introduce myself and a few OOPS concepts and examples for them . Then a few coding questions:
1. Check if a string is a palindrome.
2. Check if a given number is prime.
3. Reverse a string.
4. Given an array of elements, find the most frequently occurring prime number, print the number, it's indices and the number of times it occurs.
5. Sudoku: Given a number and the row and column it is entered in, determine if it is possible for the number to be placed there without any conflicts. (row, column and the applicable 3x3 box).
I was asked 2 other coding questions which I'm not able to remember.
Next 2 simple DBMS queries followed- using inner join on 2 tables based on a common attribute.
I was then asked a lot of questions about my various projects and about my extra-curricular activities.
My responses to these questions were probably enough for the interviewer as I didn't answer the remaining questions well and told him that I didn't know most of them.
He asked if I have any experience writing C++ header files and inbuilt functions .
I was asked to rate myself on and was asked questions about about networking concepts, cryptography, cyber security and ethical hacking based on the content in my resume.
I was also asked a puzzle- the popular heaven hell truth lie puzzle.
Next- HR Round: I was asked to introduce myself, explain my final year project as I would to a person not in my field, i was asked what i knew about the company, if I was ignorant about the company :p, my favourite means of learning new stuff- inside and outside my curriculum, why I use that means of learning while other means seem much easier and more effective, my strengths, my weaknesses, why I consider my weakness a weakness, if I did any projects on trending areas like big data, cloud, IoT etc., why i didn't work on such areas, why I didn't even take the initiative to try learning such topics and if I had any questions about the company.
I was told that they work on industrial internet of things and if selected, I would have to know about hadoop, nosql etc. She also told me that we would be working on real time projects during the internship, while receiving training on the side if required.
