I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin) in Jun 2022
Interview
The process is as described by many other people here:
Round 1:
You speak with a recruiter for 20 - 30 mins just asking about you and your experience. Usually tell you here if you progress or not.
Round 2:
Manager and Team Lead interview with Technical Test.
You are given a task to do before the interview to build a landing page with live chat feature on it.
The actual interview was a 60 minute interview where i met with a manager and a team lead. They were the nicest people you could wish for. The interview was 15 minutes conversation and 45 minute tech test. The test was a role play scenarios where they used the live chat you created prior.
The test is very easy where they ask you basic questions. One or 2 are a little more difficult but they guide you and help you as much as they can. I got stuck on one and was aided partially to achieve the goal which is great. I would certainly recommend as you are doing the test to vocalise a lot and explain your thoughts and issues that you face.
Once this ended you get to ask your questions and have a chat. I was told here that they were very happy to progress me to the next stage.
Round 3:
Manager meetings x 3
This is a 2 hour window of interviews where you meet 3 seperate managers with 3 different topics ( Customer First Mentality & Problem Solving
, Ownership & Coachability & Resiliency (Grit) & Effective Communication ) I found a blog from hubspot themselves which covered a lot of the questions. Just Google it.
Again the interviewers were absolutely the nicest people I have ever spoken to so the interviews were not as daunting as interviews usually are. Once I was done i was told that I would be told on the Monday ( This was a Friday) about the decision.
Sure enough Monday 2pm a I received the phone call offering me the job!
Advice:
- Know STAR inside out, be sharp and not too long ( this was feedback for me )
- Use a trial Hubspot account for practice.
- Relax and take it slow, they are not there to scold you.
The hiring process consists of an initial HR interview to assess cultural fit, followed by a technical interview to evaluate skills, and concludes with three separate one-on-one interviews with different managers expecting STAR responses.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you had conflict with a coworker or colleague, and how did you overcome it?
It is a 5 step interview process, with the 1st one being a phone screening, then a video call/interactive assignment, and then finally three 30 minute back to back interviews for the 3rd and final round.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot in Apr 2026
Interview
Three rounds:
-Screening with recruiter
-Technical (live troubleshooting with a manager)
-Behavioral (3-30 minute interviews with managers)
The recruiter offers prep sessions before the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Take advantage of them as they’ll explicitly walk you through how to prepare.
