Very professional interview and in depth. Felt comfortable and engaged during the interview. Great team at Imagine Learning. I enjoyed the process and felt like they were excited about doing the interview.

Set up an initial call with a manager. The manager did not call or respond to emails at the scheduled time. They finally replied a week later and I declined the interview because communication is clearly lacking there.

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Imagine Learning (Austin, TX) in Sep 2023
From the start I was concerned after having read other interview experiences here. I interviewed with a Sr Director, 2 other Directors and 1 Manager who admittedly wasn't actually hiring. I mentioned that I had noticed they have been hiring for this for role a while (over a year). They told me that even though the company doesn't let people go, a year back, they were forced to reduce staff. This didn't answer the question as to why this position has been open so long. They seemed to be looking for quick answers with no intention of actually hiring. I was given a live code test by the manager and an architectural test by one of the directors. Another director asked to do yet another live code test and after having mentioned that I had already done one they appeared to have no further interest. Answering architectural issues for a Staff Dev position and string tests for any Sr Dev, doesn't demonstrate how well you'll contribute to the actual job. Why Directors would be so over involved in doing technical interviews is very odd. Typically the hiring manager and some of the other developers will be the ones to perform the technical challenges. I advise you to steer clear of this place. They're don't appear to actually want to hire for this role or they're hiding a turn-over problem.
- Without the required time to code the solution I was asked to describe how to return true/false if a person can graduate if they've taken all pre-requirement courses while signing up for a particular course. They provide a number of courses with the pre-req courses and one with a circular dependency.
- Given a string of words, uppercase the first letter of each word. Run the unit tests to prove your answer.

First step was a one-way recorded interview, then a 20 minute phone screen, and finally a zoom interview with multiple sales and training managers. They will ask you to pitch a product in the third interview as you would over the phone. The people were incredibly nice and it was a relaxed, nice interview
- Give a 5 minute pitch of one of their products.

Multiple rounds of interviews with managers, and their managers. Everything was going great until they just stopped communicating, and have yet to send a rejection letter to me. I have three unanswered emails, leaving me guessing for 2 weeks. Honestly, after reading ALL of these reviews, it's obvious I'm dodging a bullet with this shady company. Prospective employees should AVOID and work with people that treat you with dignity.
- Why do you want to work for Imagine Learning?

Lengthy gauntlet of multiple panel interviews. Went through 5 rounds to be told they would consider me for a more junior role. Was quite upset that they wasted my time and scheduled a final interview to reject me.
- What was a time when you got harsh feedback on your design and how did you handle it?

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Imagine Learning (London, England) in Jul 2023
First 2 rounds were experience based - one people management focused and one technical architecture focused - all pretty straight forward and enjoyable. The third round included a coding test even though the role doesn't require hands on coding. I wouldn't have minded that so much, but I was given no warning so didn't even have an IDE available on my laptop meaning that I had to try to remember syntax from when I last coded 6/7 years ago. I knew exactly what was needed to solve the problem, but spent all the time trying to remember syntax. At least give people fair warning of the requirements of the interview!
- How do you code a function to test whether a string is a palindrome?

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Imagine Learning in Jul 2023
Imagine Learning reached out to me at the end of July and and said they wanted to schedule an interview with me. I offered them several days and times I was available. No response. I emailed to follow up. No response until October when they said they weren't moving forward -- never having interviewed me. Highly unprofessional.

Application on their website, followed by an invite for a one way Hireview video. I had applied with this company 4 years ago and when I got that request, 4 years ago, told them I wouldn't be doing that because those videos discriminate against what is considered norms. If you don't look, act, or present as a certain way; you can be eliminated without someone ever having the decency to get to know your work. So they lost out of a PhD holder because until their interview policies become humanistic; I will not feed into their Hireview mentality.
- One way video interview just to see if you're worthy of human contact.

First, I had to complete a 5 question video recorded interview. I heard back about an hour later from a recruiter asking to speak the following day on zoom. This wasn’t really an interview, as much as the recruiter asking if I had any questions about the position. I was then sent a performance task in which I was given slides and talking points and had to present to the hiring manager. I was asked to present about the online platform and was given a demo login that did not work. After going back and forth with the recruiting team, I was told I could access the free material on the website and to present on that. Following this interview, I was told that I would hear about next steps by the end of the week. I did not hear back for three more weeks, until I had sent two follow up emails asking what the next steps were, when I got a generic rejection email.
