      Interview

I’m sharing this a bit late, but I still remember the experience clearly because it left an impression. About three years ago, Indra contacted me for a Full Stack Developer role, and the interviews were going really well. The recruiter seemed nice and I felt we had a good technical connection. When I spoke with the hiring manager and someone from the team, the conversation went great and they seemed genuinely interested in my experience. But when I mentioned that I was still finishing my degree, even though I already had several years of professional experience and had completed a coding bootcamp, they told me it was company policy to only hire candidates who already have a degree. That was where the process stopped, which felt quite discouraging. It seemed outdated to be judged mainly on having a diploma instead of proven skills and real-world experience. In tech, what usually matters most is what you can actually build and contribute, not just what’s written on paper. I still left with a positive impression of the people I spoke with, but the company’s hiring policy felt rigid and not very modern.
