      Senior Systems Engineer Interview

      Jun 9, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Infosys in Dec 2011

      Interview

My profile was selected by the employer through a job portal and I got an initial call as well as email communication regarding the offer for interview process to which I responded back by accepting the offer. Following that I got a few application forms via email which I had to carry with me when I went to attend the face-to-face interview. Those were mainly about my education details and previous work experiences. I filled all those forms and took print outs. I was also given the provision to select my preferred place of interview. My interview date was with in 2 weeks after the initial communication. For me, the reporting time was 10.00am and I reached at the venue 45 minutes prior to the time. The campus and the work environment that I saw there attracted me a lot that suddenly I felt an urge to be a part of this campus. Since I was early, they decided to conduct my interview before 10.00am itself so that I need not wait for long. All the copies of mark lists, certificates and other application forms that I carried with me were checked by my reporting official. This took hardly 15 minutes. And then within 10 minutes I was called in for the interview. There were 2 people in the interview panel. They greeted me with a warm smile and I felt all the more comfortable while attending the interview. After the usual self introduction process and such stuff, they shifted to technical questions. There were questions like what all challenges faced in my previous projects, how I managed to overcome all those, working in a team etc. There were more questions that evaluates a candidates process knowledge. In my case, I had 50% of the questions to judge my technical knowledge and 50% about process knowledge. The face-to-face discussion took 30 minutes. I guess this may vary depending on the members of the interview panel. After that I was asked to wait outside for some time. I was informed earlier itself that if I get through the interview process I will be intimated within 10 days from the date of interview. I waited outside for another 10 minutes and then one of the official came there and said that I can leave the campus. Though this response gave me an impression that I was disqualified, I still had hope because I believed that I performed well in the interview. Exactly after one week, I got a call from Infosys Ltd. and I had a quick round of interview with an HR official which was rather a friendly talk and thus I was offered a job there. After that I had a lot of joining formalities to be completed and I was informed about all those via emails and phone calls.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

One of the question that I had was to detail everything about WCF, WPF and WF. And why and when should we go for these? This was difficult for me because I didn't have any practical knowledge on these 3 foundations.
