I worked at Infosys full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The value system of the company is noteworthy. The company has managed to keep this alive over time and across its new hires. This is most visible in challenging times or when dealing with difficult situations. This is a company to build long-term careers or join early in your career to have an exposure to professional workplace practices.

    Cons

The company can be slow to respond to market dynamics or to employee dynamics, but the response will be well thought-out.

    Advice to Management

Engaging employees not just around their work but also around the shared principles. Be decisive about aligning company values with the kind of people who are in the company, and exclude those who don't align to company values in their actions and decisions.

    Pros

Free time, time to think or in many cases rethink your career

    Cons

Management sucks and they are nothing but cutthroat rats and will blame you if a client withdraws from them . They will tell you one thing and you will hear another different thing especially when its client work or moving expenses which is a expensive decision. For example they hired people for the rtp area and as soon as people moved here they were trying to make them move again. (They hire in bulk just for the NC tax break until 2020) Managers do not care about your personal preferences just to make their quota. You also just sit there all day and twiddle your thumbs when you are not on a project or do one their pointless showcase projects for bootleg IBM knockoffs. (Why they dont want you working for IBM in contract clause). Lastly if you do get project work make sure its not higher than your pay grade. Managers will sometime stick you to project manager level style work that is beyond skill and comfort level and work where it requires you to be up at India time in the US. (but they wont tell you that until you are officially on a project, or the manager for the client tells you)

    Advice to Management

Quit selling people false hope and ideas. If people do not feel comfortable about their personal situation or skills do not pressure them.

I have been working at Infosys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They are nice. Upper management works hard at communication. Training opportunities abound. Decent benefits, pay is a little low, but you're getting your first break into the IT world.

    Cons

Middle management has a serious issue. Nobody seems to have answers or want to take responsibility. New employees are assigned to whatever division luck of the draw assigns them.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to employees, especially the ones who aren't from India. They'll just find other jobs.
