I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8+ months. I interviewed at Jacobs (Calgary, AB) in Oct 2012
Interview
Casual atmosphere and discussion. Whole interview lasted 30 minutes. Project Lead and Line manager were present. They said, they do not currently have a suitable position for me and they may have some thing coming up in the future. Project Lead wanted to ensure that I can work independently but also wanted to be sure I can function as part of a team, since projects usually have multiple disciplines.
Initial screening was done on phone by HR person on the phone. There were basic questions like employment status and when you are available to start the job. Also, what is the salary expectation.

Interview
I got a phone interview through a personal reference. They talked about what the job and training process was like, asked me to expand on some things in my resume, asked if I'd had a chance to look at the website and read their core values etc (I had fortunately!) and we talked about that some. They set up an in-person interview at the end. There was nothing really technical.

Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Interviewees are never "put on the spot" during the interview process. Questions are generic, but relevant. What experience does the candidate bring? How can they demonstrate their work ethic?

Interview
Very straight forward (Which I prefer). You meet with your boss, and their higher up. Rather pleasant and if you're a one on one style interviewer, it will be no problem. Just trying to add a few more words because it requires fifty words!
