You receive an e-mail with an appointment for an interview with a company representative.
On the interview, they check the car for cosmetic flaws and functionality all over, then you start with them on a test ride for a few minutes where you will be reviewed for your driving and professionality.
Your background check is your interview. They do not interview anyone because your background speaks for itself. They have ways of finding out about your background even if it was expunge from your record.

Interview
Primarily a documentation verification and make sure your vehicle doesn't have too many dings and scratches. If you show up, you can't fail (well, maybe, but you'd have to try very hard!)
