I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Manulife in Mar 2025
Interview
First was a phone interview with the recruiter, who was absolutely lovely. Next stage is a virtual interview with 1 person. The interviewer showed up 10 minutes late and did not apologize for their tardiness. It did not feel like an interview in the slightest. The interviewer asked me about my background and then proceeded to do a role play conversation throughout the interview. I’m not sure if this is normal Manulife practice but I have never been in an absence/disability management interview where it was just a role play scenario for the second round. I was asked questions that I would not know if I didn’t work for them. I was asked technical questions that only Manulife employees would know. I’m not sure what the point or purpose of the interview was, it did not feel like a two way street conversation. Very disappointing because the recruiter was extremely pleasant and I was hopeful and excited since I’ve always wanted to work with this employer but the interview felt like an “i got you” moment and not a space where I’m being assessed for my skills and experience. I tried my best to problem solve in my head but it wasn’t enough because I’m not a Manulife employee.

Question 1
What would be in Manulife’s policy regarding a client with anxiety at work and no anxiety at home. What would a Manulife employee prescribe a client with a back injury. A lot of how would a Manulife employee deal with a certain problem using their policy, which I don’t have knowledge of!
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Manulife (Halifax, NS) in Sep 2018
Interview
One-on-One, in person meeting where you get asked questions but really feels more like a professional conversation. Make sure you sell that you wish to develop a career with Manulife as there is alot of turnover so long term commitment is a seller.
