I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at MassMutual (San Francisco, CA) in May 2008
Interview
this is position to become a financial adviser. It's mostly selling life insurance, disability and long term care and investments. You can also do fee planning.. There is no salary. Everything is commission. There is a lot of support to start your own business which is basically what you are doing. They want to make sure you are good at sales, smart, persistent and hard working.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at MassMutual (Austin, TX) in Apr 2026
Interview
Recruiter reached out and only gave pros. When I dug deeper to get further detail he didn't know concrete info. Felt more like a desperate way to try to recruit due to a high turnover rate.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at MassMutual in Oct 2025
Interview
I was referred by a recruiter to interview with a financial advisor for an in-office role. During the interview, several red flags came up. They asked about my citizenship, and when I said I am American, they implied that could not be true because of my last name. Later, after I mentioned that I speak another language, they said, “That’s great, we’ve been aiming to target that community,” which deeply disturbed me.
Pretty straight foward super friendly
Very nice went through behavioral questions a few technical and mainly talk about your background and why you’re a good role good fit. Overall, positive experience, super friendly showed enthusiasm.
