      Crew Member Interview

      Apr 24, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Birmingham, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at McDonald's (Birmingham, England) in Apr 2015

      Interview

I have worked at Maccies before so i was fairly confident. I applied online which was easy and straight forwards there's a section near the end where you have to fill out multiple choice questions which is scored (i've heard you have to get 70% or more to pass), you don't see your score and if the store like your application you will be invited to an interview. If you provide your mobile number they will send an text to you saying check your e-mail which mean you've got an interview if you don't opt for this you'd need to check your e-mail regularly often stores will interview you within the next 48 hrs to your application depending on how desperate stores need new staff. I arrived at the store about 35 minutes early, queued up and spoke to the person on till saying i was in for an interview then i was offered a drink and told to sit and wait for the manager. 30 minutes later I introduced myself to the store manager (I was like oh crap this is going to be tough), then he told me to go into his office and we started to briefly talk and i mentioned i worked at a local mcdonalds before for a year but because my store didnt have drive through he said that i will do my OJE there. So i was asked to show my ID he scanned my NI card and Passport (usually this is a good thing because if they take your details in advance you will have a good chance of passing providing you dont muck up your interview). So i got a quick tour of the restaurant and was told to help out on drive through which was very similar to working on tills (where i had worked before) and got to meet the crew who was on the shift it was pretty relaxing i kinda knew what to do so I served about 5 customers in their vehicles, the guy i was working with was like you should get hired because you know everything. Then i was asked to go back in the dining area to have a chat with the manager and he was like "this will be short". And verified at the end if my contact details were correct and that he'd be in touch within 48 hours to schedule my induction day. He then closed the conversation with "i look forwards to working with you" i told him thanks and to enjoy the rest of his shift :)
