      Account Executive Interview

      Sep 4, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Bogota, Cundinamarca
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at MetLife (Bogota, Cundinamarca) in Aug 2025

      Interview

The interview is a total waste of time. Unethical and unprofessional. First, I had an interview with one of the managers for about an hour which I passed. The second filter was a group interview with other candidates, lasting approximately two hours, during which we participated in some group exercises. I passed that filter as well, Then they scheduled me for another interview with the General Manager in Bogota for about an hour, which I passed that filter as well. Later on, they asked me to submit all my documents online: ID, college degrees, previous work experience certifications, and references. By then, I was scheduled for a medical exam and received medical clearance. Finally, they scheduled a three-hour job offer. During this filter, all candidates were shown the compensation package and the bonuses scheme. More or less, they said if we sign up 4-6 life policies a month, we will earn about 28-32 % of commission, which is a pretty good number. They also announced that each executive who manages to bring 9 policies during the first month will receive a bonus and commission of $28,000,000 COP ($7000 USD) After agreeing to the job offer, the next step was to start the following week. The company asked for a Project 300, which is a spreadsheet that compiles all of my own prospects, which I will be bringing to the company. The managers compile all those prospects, apparently, to make me accountable so I can start selling right away. Family members, previous clients, friends and so on. After all that, and with the promise to receive an offer letter, I never heard back from them. I contacted HR, and they responded that they decided not to proceed with my hiring process. Really bad experience. I know they are not obligated to hire anyone, but I have passed all filters, and last minute, they retracted my candidature without communication. It seems they only care to collect the info from all candidates of that Project 300. The list of 300 prospects from each candidate. Bad, bad, bad Scam. I knew the promised payment structure was too good to be true.

      Interview

      Anonymous employee
      Boston, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at MetLife (Boston, MA) in Oct 2017

      Interview

All around great experience and part of the reason why I would love to work with the company! Recruiter was extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable right off the bat. Started with an informal phone call where recruiter got to know me- asked why I was interested in sales. Next, spoke to one of the trainee managers who would be helping me with the 12 month training program that you start at before becoming an account executive. Equally as nice. Next, skype interview with the initial recruiter. Final round you are flown out to whatever city you chose, all expense paid!
