I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (Menlo Park, CA) in Feb 2016
Interview
Initial phone screen with recruiter, followed by a video conference interview with 2 designers. I presented a few portfolio projects to the first interviewer, then critiqued an iPhone app with the second interviewer. I was then brought on-site in Palo Alto for a final interview, where I presented more portfolio work, met with designers and design managers, and completed a number of short design challenges.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One design challenge was the old 'redesign a TV remote'.
Straightforward like any big tech interview, but long and intense. Formats are pretty standardized so it just takes practice. Questions appear like it's from a bank, so if you're prepared you should be fine.

Interview
I was reached out by a recruiter. Started with the recruiter call, then portfolio presentation, then full loop (Portfolio presentation - app critique - design challenge - background). They had very strong emphasis on design craft and visual excellence. Recruiter who helped me prep was very nice and helpful.
Typical interview process consisting of multiple rounds—Pre-screen, Portfolio Presentation, Full-Loop (Presentation, App Crit, Whiteboard Challenge and Behavioral) - Felt I did really well, and I got great feedback during the rounds but ultimately received no offer.
