I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Microsoft (Bengaluru) in Mar 2019
Interview
The Process started with an online coding test held on Mettl. Everyone had different questions so people were shortlisted based on their performance as per the difficulty of their question set. I manged to solve only 1 question completely out of 3. For the other 2 I submitted bruteforce solutions which almost passed(only 1 Test case failed in both questions). I heard people didn't got shortlisted even after solving 2 quesn so it all depends on your problem set. After this, They invited us to Bangalore for Interviews.
The First round was a Group Fly round in which we were given 2 questions to be solved on paper in 1 hour. They shortlisted only 8-10 people out of nearly 100 for further interviews. Sadly I could not get through this round :(.
The entire process only had two rounds and it was really simple. Each round was around 45 minutes to an hour with a current Microsoft engineer and they just ask you a typical leetcode style question. There was also a behavioral round that was really simple.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The first round was a typically leetcode question that was really easy. The second round was a little bit harder. It was about having a nxn square made out of 0s and 1s and it wants you to compute what the square looks like if it was rotated.
