I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (New York, NY) in Apr 2009
Interview
I contacted NYC from our school's posting.
It's one of the general offices, located near by Wall St.
The questions were straightforward, including; tell me about yourself, why do I have to hire you.
Those two questions I was express myself that I've been looking to become a financial adviser.
2 rounds: 1st round (1 hour) and 2nd round (2.5h super day). Both rounds were technical, got asked probability/ stats questions and brainteasers for 1st round, with some programming questions, were not difficult. 2nd round was more of math, finance, python and SQL.
It was great. The hiring manager was very transparent and made the process make sense. Feels like a very fast pace self starter job, that's exactly what I am lookin for.
Pretty simple with the recruiter, but their application process was poorly structured. It asked me about the 2 week gap period between my summer internship and starting college and what I was doing prior to that, apparently being a child was not really the correct response.
