I was interviewed for a Director level role within their insurance function. The recruiter was 15 mins late to our interview call. While I understand that things happened, the recruiter never sent any note that he was running late. I sent an email to confirm we still had the call and within 30 secs he called my cell phone explaining he was running late on another meeting and couldn't get off. Yet, that precluded him from sending me a note to let me know what's going on? I honestly believe the recruiter just forgot and didn't want to admit it. In addition, we only had 30 mins scheduled so after his 5 mins intro we had only 10 mins left as I had a meeting scheduled right after. The entire thing was rushed and I've never experienced such unprofessionalism especially for a director level role. I'm currently a director at a large p&c carrier with >10 yrs leading and managing groups. I've interviewed many candidates and myself have interviewed at all sizes of insurance carriers and this was hands down the worst experience. The recruiter stated they'd be back in touch by the end of the week on next steps and it has now been 3 weeks with no reply. Highly disappointed in the whole process, particularly if this is an indicator of how you handle your recruitment process for executive level roles.
