I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Roseville, CA)
Interview
After submitting my application online I received an email from the HR department scheduling my phone interview for the next couple days. They asked six basic questions, such as, "Why Nordstrom?" "What does customer service mean to you?" and "Have you ever gone above and beyond for the customer?". Then the manager of the department I was applying for called me to schedule an in-person interview. The questions were pretty much the same plus some more questions about my previous retail experience and how I would deal with certain situations. A couple of days later my manager called me again to set up an interview with the store manager, which really wasn't an interview as much as it was her meeting me and letting me know her expectations. Only about 20 minutes or so, really chill. They really want to hear a lot about customer service and how you have dealt with that, retail experience I feel is a must.

Question 1
Have you ever dealt with an unsatisfied customer and what did yo do to fix it? Have you ever worked with commission? What would you do if you found out other employees were taking your customers or commission?
So easy, I went to a job fair and was hired on the spot. They need people in the kids department, that's the easiest section to get into. They just ask about your personality and who you are.
Was inside Barton creek mall, hiring manager was prompt and clear with questions ranging from how I would handle difficult customers, to my personal experiences that could apply to the job.
