I interviewed at Oatey
Three interviews with different people. One in HR and two in the department I was applying to. Oatey was respectful of my time and was fast with getting back to me. The tour was especially nice.
- What is an obstacle you have had to overcome and how did you do it?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Cleveland, OH
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Oatey (Cleveland, OH) in Oct 2022
Oatey reached out to me via LinkedIn and said I would be a good candidate to interview for their Vice President of eCommerce role. I had a long conversation with the recruiter where we discussed things like salary range, whether my partner would be okay with me relocating, my comfort traveling X%, etc. Afterwards, I was told to apply through their company application portal. I notified the recruiter when I did and then heard nothing for 6 weeks until receiving an automated rejection email. All in all, it felt like either my time was wasted to meet a candidate quota, or they were disorganized to the point where they couldn't even coordinate a first interview between the hiring manager and a referred candidate.
- What is your experience selling on eCommerce retail channels?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Oatey in Jul 2022
The interviewer missed the time for our interview. Then left me a voicemail at a different time. I called them back and emailed them several times. Don’t interview with this company, they will ghost you for their own mistakes and you’ll never hear back.
- What is your background experience?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Oatey
The interview process was fairly simple and straightforward, with good communication from Oatey’s team at every step. It did not take long for hiring managers or HR people to reach out or respond to inquiries, and it did not seem like a very intense interview process.
- What is an example of a mistake you’ve made?

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Oatey (Cleveland, OH) in Jun 2022
Went through 6 rounds of interviews, no offer. Complete waste of time. Majority of the interviews were last minute rushes as well. Shouldn’t require 6 interviews to figure out who you want to hire. Process needs to improve.
- Why do you want to work here?

Weird reply... bad english, bad communication. Ask me to download an App for an online interview. Plus, it is a general reply with wrong job position. Overall it was too good to be true.
- Ask to me to download a Telegram App because it's from the Bureau of Humar Resource, LMAO

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Oatey in Oct 2021
Very easy zoom interview, felt comfortable, and asked typical questions. Has not gotten back to me and it has been two weeks, so I do not know if they are still interviewing others or have decided to go ahead and choose someone else.
- Why did I apply to Oatey?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Oatey
I only made it through the first round, but the interviewer asked very easy, normal questions and the whole process took less than 20 minutes. She made the position sound great, but I never heard back after the interview.
- Tell me about yourself was one, other questions like that.

I applied online. I interviewed at Oatey
Two sets of in person interviews. I believe there were four people in each set. 30 minutes each interviewer, total of 2 hours per time going in. Since then they have transitioned to virtual interviewing,
- Why are you interested in Oatey?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Cleveland, OH
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Oatey (Cleveland, OH) in Dec 2020
Basic HR screener focused only experience. Hiring manager was unorganized, condescending and ill prepared for the interview. Literally started the interview by saying I probably wouldn’t fit with the chemistry of her team without citing why. Avoided questions on culture and how success is defined for the role in question. Spent the remainder of the interview probing for advice (free consultation) on retailers we both had experience supporting.
- How have your forecasted volume and prices for (retailer name) previously?
