Salary range very low for in person downtown Toronto location. Looking for 6+ years of experience with software development while barely meeting salary expectations of a junior software engineer. Interviewer was kind and respectful of peoples time.
- What are your salary expectations

A short interview with hr (15 mins) and then a longer interview with a panel including the hiring manager if the first interview is passed (30 mins). Both interviews were conducted over teams and were within a span of 2-3 weeks
- Tell me about a time you solved a problem

Straight forward questions, STAR style. I think there were 6 questions. Interviewers we’re friendly. 30 min total. One engineer and one HR rep. Overall a good experience despite choosing another employer.
- What interests you about OPG?

video interview with 5 standard quesitons, roughly one hour. Super early and it took them a month to process. You also need to get through security clearance, there is a chance you don't pass
- The mistake you encountered and how you solved them

Very Biased. The HR came in with strong opinion prejudged, and continually prodded questions to try and prove her bias until she found something. That not proper interviewing nor is it a proper professional standards.
- experience based questions, prior work positions, roles, responsibilities

Initial phone screening interview followed by a second interview with hiring manager. All generic behavioural questions with very little technical questions. Relatively slow process. Was selected for initial interview about 54months after applying to the position. hiring process took about 3 weeks after the initial interview.
- Describe a time you had to work with a difficult colleague. Describe a time when you made a mistake and had to report it to someone above you.

Screening process was great. More qualified and organized than Hiring Managers. 2nd interview was quite unstructured (Clearly the decision was already made in mind). Regardless of answering all questions perfectly and offering all details of required as a follow up, it was certainly more subjective than objective “it was evident during the meeting”. If you are minority, Good luck. White is the colour folks.
- All Project Management process groups related.

Started with defining terms in simpler words; e.g. explain hazard. Then moved onto behavior question; e.g. tell me about a time when.... Then moved onto technical questions consisting of Physics and Chemistry. Overall the interview was easy, focusing mainly on basic questions
- Tell me about a time when.... What is Radiation? What are the main three phases? What is heavy water?

1 screening interview by recruiter (20-30 minutes). Followed by Virtual interview with Panel of 2 (Hiring Manager and a senior manager) for an hour. Each took turn in asking mix of behavioural and technical questions. Clearly they both showed “Fake” interest but ghosted later. Never responded back to follow up on updates, incorrect/misleading expectations set for the timeline of outcome. They both were unstructured and clearly good at faking that “We are funny and that equal opportunity employer”. I barely noticed any minority representation and I don’t think they care about innovation. Typical laid back luddites. Absolutely disorganized and spent entire 1 hour on this meeting while did not even talk about the role itself but kept asking questions to give impression that everyone is fully engaged on this call. Message: Try not to assume that applicants are dumb. We are part of community and panel must have some decency/self respect to set true/factual expectations. I don’t think that OPG has responsible leadership after this experience.
- Multiple various questioning and those both program and senior project managers were clearly disorganized. So they initially “stated” 5 questions but asked over 10 questions. A clear message that they were trying to somehow identify a reason to refuse.

HR screening from a recruiting agency and 1 technical round with 3 persons like manager, senior developers. It took almost 3 weeks to get tech round. they conducted it for an hour.
