      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Planned Parenthood

      Interview

Submitted app/resume online, received contact for a phone interview within a week. After reading other reviews, I verified the contact was actually from an outside agency, and not a PP staff member (even though contact is with a PP email). The experience was ok, but I decided to write this review because I had the same experience as another candidate and thought maybe this would help someone else. My contact was via phone interview and the rep was typing notes and appeared to be disconnected from the conversation. I had to repeat every response at least once and had to provide simplified explanations a few times. It is discouraging to think this is the interaction she will use to create a summary which is then presented to the hiring manager to determine if I proceed. *Note: I have not received any updates but wanted to share my initial experience.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Planned Parenthood (Seattle, WA) in Dec 2025

      Interview

So I'm not done with this yet, but I wanted to share my experience so far because I've seen a couple others posting similar experiences: Situation: Me, a somewhat young but experienced applicant, eager to work in reproductive healthcare justice space, applies for a development role with PP. A girl can dream right? 4 days later, I get an email from a "talent specialist" at PP!!! My heart skips a beat, I'm so thrilled. This is my dream company. I eagerly respond to the email, and schedule myself on the HR reps calendar as their initial email requested. (for the following week) I didn't get a response, but no worries, I only confirmed the date and time I set up. I spend the next few days scouring websites like glassdoor and indeed, reddit, etc, to prepare for this conversation. I'm so thrilled to have gotten this interview!!! Finally, the day of the phone screen arrives. I spend my morning nervously prepping, until the scheduled time arrives. Two minutes passed the scheduled time, no call, ok, five minutes, ok still no problem, 10 minutes, ok they must have gotten caught up on another call, then 15 minutes, nothing...so I send an email, confirming my correct phone number, asking if they need to reschedule? Like hello? One second after sending my email, I get an automated away message! A vague note saying the specialist isn't in office with another coworker's email included. Ok ok, life happens, so I email this other contact. 10, 15, 20, minutes, nothing. 1 hour, 2 hours, nothing. Nervous, I want to make sure I'm not the problem here, so I call the number in the specialist's email, thinking it's a general line or I can leave a voicemail for her. After four or five rings, she answers? "Hello?" No name, no introduction. Hello? I introduce myself and explain the situation. "Oh. I called you yesterday and left a voicemail. I took an emergency vacation. I'm not back until the end of next week." Let me tell you I would have seen that missed call!!!! A bold faced lie is how we're starting this process, great. I mutter apologies and ask her what I should do next. She tells me to schedule a time on her calendar, but that she's not back until next week. Yeah, I see that now. It's the night before our -rescheduled- call, I emailed her earlier today to try to avoid a repeat of what happened two weeks ago now. I'll update this after my call tomorrow, but my excitement for a position that I am well qualified for at a place I would love to work for is tampered, to say the least. I'm just hoping this isn't a sign they aren't interested in me as a candidate....

      Development Interview

      Aug 24, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Planned Parenthood

      Interview

Started normal with HR call but the woman that did the prescreen had no clue what she was talking about. Asking me medical questions/clinic related for an office/development role. I asked her if this job requires time working in the clinic and if so, I would pass now. Finally, two weeks later I got with the head of development. Another odd, almost fake interview. Was told this job can't seem to keep anyone but they'd love to hire me. Bizarre. I passed and later learned the person who took the role left 6 months later.
