I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Cincinnati, OH) in Feb 2011
Interview
The initial IQ test and skills test were basic. The second step in the process was a phone interview with a recruiter which consisted of the STAR format questioning. Again, basic. After the phone interview the company conducts a background check that is more in depth than the FBI. My work history is extensive and they contacted every employer listed. When they researched my legal background an open container citation from college (over 10 years ago) came up. The recruiter contacted me to alert me of my "criminal record." I did not disclose this incident because their application only asks for information from the previous three years.

Very impersonal and did not get to speak to someone in person everything was video recorded. It took a long time for them to finally decline my video interview. That's it

The interview process is pretty strenuous. You do have an assessment that you have to take. Before you get the in person interview. After you do the assessment you do have virtual star question method questions that you have to answer. If you don’t do well with that you won’t get the final interview with the recruiter or hiring person. Definitely study STAR questions. They’re kinda hard. And then the final interview they do ask you a few star questions as well. You can use the ones from your virtual interview. It was really easy-going though. I did appreciate how easy the conversation was for the final interview.
