I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Publix (Columbia, SC) in Aug 2012
Interview
I was called in for an interview about two weeks after I put in my application. It was a pretty straight forward interview and not many questions were asked of me. I was informed the following week that the department I'd interviewed for had handed off my application to a department that they felt I would be better suited for. I had another interview and got the job.

Easy process. Easy questions. Asked a lot about prior experiences and what i could bring to the table. Asked about schedule and availability as well all of which led to the personality questions.

Question 1
Tell me when you turned around a negative situation.
First, you have to take an online assessment during the application and then you get scheduled for an in-person interview if they like your responses. The assessment was pretty lengthy and had a variety of customer service and situational questions, and the interview was pretty serious for the low level position I was taking.
