I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sam's Club (Louisville, KY) in Oct 2010
Interview
I transferred into this position as a supervisor. I did not get interviewed for it, but I actually gave the interviews for all front end spots in my old club. A lot of the time your questions are very basic, "give a specific example of working in a group to achieve a goal". That being said, a lot of the time we are interviewing young adults right out of high school who have no or negligible work experience. This means that for the most part if you look physically capable and seem competent (it is a member driven business, and member relations and sales capabilities matter) you wont have a hard time getting on.

Question 1
If we were unsure on a potential higher, we might ask them to "sell us a pen". This pushes a lot of people out of their comfort zone in an already nerve wracking situation (again, typically someones first ever interview), but gives us a solid understanding of the person we are talking to.

Interview
Applied online to a new store location. Was called in for an interview two days later by an hourly supervisor and set an interview for the next day with a department manager. After that interview, I was scheduled for an interview with the Store Manager the next day and was offered the position at the end of the interview in a different department. The Store Manager asked me no situational questions, just wanted to find more out about me. After talking with me, he determined that with my personality and experience, I would be suited better in another department and, to my surprise, paid better.

Question 1
Describe a time where you had many different ways to accomplish a project. What were your ways, what way did you choose, and why?
