Applied online, had an initial screening interview, then was scheduled for a second interview which was a combination of behavioral and technical questions.
The second interview is the reason for describing it as a negative experience. There were some pretty technical questions asked that frankly required some clarification, and they had an HR intern doing the interviewing. That intern was very polite and it's certainly no fault of theirs, but a company should not have HR interns asking technical engineering questions that they are unable to clarify or even really evaluate the answers to. Maybe if it's some sort of multiple question test, but some questions were along the lines of "What's the most important aspect of _____" which doesn't have a single, unique correct answer when discussing engineering systems.
Again, no fault of the intern, but this is a poor way to interview experienced engineering candidates. Hope this is an outlier and not the typical way interviews are performed.
