      Flight Attendant Interview

      Sep 17, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Los Angeles, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Los Angeles, CA)

      Interview

So the process is just what everyone else on this site says.. Depending on your group interview location, the group could be huge or kinda small. I interviewed in Los Angeles so the group was around 100ish? I didn't pay too much attention. They split the group up into two rooms. Then everyone got a chance to speak about why they wanted the position and what they have to offer. My speech was about 30 seconds, it doesn't have to be exactly 60. They prefer you keep it short and and to the point just because they have to get through everyone. I actually fumbled in my speech, but it was very straight forward and to the point.. I added a little quote at the end to leave them with a lasting impression. Then after the speeches, the recruiters deliberate for 30-45 minutes. Then they post two lists (one for each group) with everyone who they'd like to individually interview. Only about 15-20 people made it from each group.. So like 30-40 people. I honestly couldn't tell you what they look for, considering some of the people who made it through had given a completely dead end speech.. Yet they looked the part. But then again the ones who did a great job definitely got through. So my advice would be to definitely look the part- blazer, blouse, pencil skirt to your knees, panty hose, black heels (2 inches). Even a neck scarf if you want! For your speech, I would suggest starting with why you want to be a flight attendant (don't mention family or age), then go on to your experience in customer service, then finish up with your personal traits that you would be bringing to the table. Then end by thanking them for the opportunity. So if you're selected for a one-on-one, a recruiter will ask you a few basic questions about relocating & a few role play questions. I actually misunderstood one of my role play questions.. Then she further explained it so I had a second chance to answer. She was so nice! After your one-on-one, the interview is concluded and they say it'll be a week from the day, but I received me email 16 days later inviting me to the January training class! So if you get to your two week mark and still haven't heard back, don't lose hope! Anyway, good luck to all and never give up if this is what you truly want to do. It took me 4 airline interviews and 3 rejection emails before I landed this position and it was worth the hard work.

It was a virtual one on one and after this process they alerted me of my training date a week later. The process was so pretty seemless and the company is good to work for but any little mistake you make you can be out.
