I had two interviews total. Initially I applied directly and was contacted for a phone screening that lasted about 20 minutes. Right out of the gate I noticed a lack of friendliness in the tone - almost like they were suspicious of me or something. Then I had the second interview with a few other managers and that’s when things really went downhill. The two people that interviewed me the second time came off like know-it-alls and were VERY rude. They were snide the entire time. They made the interview feel like an interrogation (not a conversation) and that approach makes it impossible to “pass” an interview. I also did not feel that either of them were qualified to assess my background as neither one of them shared my background nor had ever done this kind of work before. Yet, they arrogantly presented themselves as knowing more about my line of work than me (I know they didn’t). They asked all the wrong questions as all they were really looking for was someone to do conversion work, yet they were asking questions that reflect a from scratch project. At times, they made me answer the same questions over and over as though one didn’t hear that the other already asked me that! One of the interviewers that I would’ve reported to also used sarcasm when I asked questions, a huge interview no-no. Low and behold, the very next day I get a rejection email. I think it’s safe to say I saw that one coming. I didn’t even care as I wouldn’t have accepted an offer anyways after being treated so rudely. It’s all good though as this company has been sued in the past for discrimination and overall their reputation isn’t there. I will add this company to my ‘do not apply’ list.
