I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Starbucks in Feb 2008
Interview
I attended a job fair that was advertised on craigslist. It was held in a Starbucks cafe, and all the prospective employees filled out applications. You handed your application to a store manager (there were a few of them in attendance) and she asked a few questions. Pretty basic stuff (are you aware we have a dress code? would you call if you were running late to work?) and those kinds of things.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to work as a team.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
