I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks (Burbank, CA) in Mar 2020
Interview
It depends which Starbucks location they need you at more, and it is generally well staffed nowadays, but back during covid days it was hectic. Even still, its pretty basic. A phone interview, then an in person interview with the store manager, and then you get a call maybe a week later saying you got the job.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you handle a customer that is upset about their order, whether it was your fault or not?
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
